Laurence Wilmain has been working for the company JOST for over seven years in the Facilities department. Beyond her professional role, she is deeply committed to rescuing chickens from intensive farming.

Living in the countryside for more than ten years, Laurence began adopting chickens after discovering an organization that rescues animals destined for slaughter. Today, all her chickens, both white and brown, are rescued hens, some coming from intensive farms at around 18 months old.

These hens often arrive in poor condition, with few or no feathers, requiring special care to protect them from the cold. Laurence found creative solutions, such as making small sweaters, to help them recover. Within a few weeks, the hens regain their strength and can enjoy many happy years living outdoors.

Laurence also acts as a relay for other adopters, helping chickens transition to new homes while reducing stress. For her, this commitment goes far beyond animal rescue. She draws a parallel with the professional world: helping a chicken in need or a colleague going through a difficult time follows the same logic. A small gesture, a kind word, or a thoughtful action can have a significant impact.

She also encourages supporting better farming practices by choosing organic or free range eggs instead of eggs from caged hens. For Laurence, rescuing chickens means offering a second chance while reminding us that kindness can transform both animal lives and human relationships.
