Produced from 1950 to the mid-1960s, the Mercedes-Benz L 6600 is an emblem of robustness and innovation. Equipped with the 145 hp OM 315 diesel engine, it combined outstanding performance with low fuel consumption (24 L/100 km), a payload of 6.6 tonnes and a top speed of 70 km/h.
Its pendulum suspension and efficient brakes offered comfort and safety, although the cab was criticised for being cramped. A true all-round icon, it made its mark in a variety of sectors thanks to its varied configurations and reliable service network. A worldwide success, a reflection of visionary engineering.
