At JOST, safety is more than a legal requirement — it's a human and collective priority. Davy Pieters, Safety Advisor for over two years, shares how he works every day to ensure a safe working environment — on the road, in the warehouse, and in the garage.

His role involves identifying risks, developing practical solutions, and ensuring that safety measures are clearly understood, properly applied, and supported by everyone. "Prevention can't be imposed — it has to come from within," he says. This effort relies on close cooperation with technical services, HR, drivers, dispatchers, and all employees.

From road hazards to driver fatigue, heavy physical tasks, and mental pressure at work — each challenge is assessed carefully. If incidents happen, they are thoroughly investigated to prevent recurrence.

The ultimate goal? That everyone can work in the best possible conditions and, above all, get home safe and sound.

Simple actions can save lives: wearing protective equipment, following procedures, and most importantly, reporting any hazards without delay. In the end, the main actors in safety are the employees themselves.

Together, we’re building a strong prevention culture based on communication, awareness, and teamwork.
