Patrick Kockx has been working as the new branch manager at the logistics service provider JOST since February 3, 2025. He will steer the consolidation of the extensive network of JOST divisions active in container transport in the Antwerp region.

JOST provides services in road and multimodal transport, warehouse logistics, freight transport, customs and specialized assignments. The family business has nearly 3,000 employees and has offices in nine European countries and in Tunisia. The group has a fleet of 1,700 trucks and 4,500 trailers.

Container transport

Today, JOST has become the largest transport company specialising in container transport in the port of Antwerp. As branch manager, Patrick Kockx will further strengthen JOST's strategic presence in container transport in the Antwerp region. As such, he will manage the consolidation of four different entities.

“This concerns our entity in Geel – where we have a fleet of 240 tractors, 350 container chassis and covered trailers – as well as our entity at the Luithagen in the Antwerp port. We are working on a broader operational base in the north of Belgium. In addition to bundling the container activities, we will also optimize the technical management of our fleet. We also have 10,000 m2 of warehouse space with possibilities for expansion.”

“Thanks to a consolidation, we will be able to further optimize our work and our customer base ”, he continues. “ We are forward-looking: JOST is a dynamic family business where growth is extremely important.”

From water to land side

Kockx spent a total of 33 years at CMA CGM Belgium, including 7 years in the intermodal domain and 7 years as CEO. “I was responsible for the development of intermodal transport solutions in the Benelux”, he says. “ I was often in contact with JOST at CMA CGM, which gave me an affinity with the company and its extensive range of high-quality services.”

Entrepreneurship

“I enjoyed working for CMA CGM, but I needed a new challenge”, he continues. “Road transport requires a completely different approach than sea transport. It is also a personal enrichment to build new network relationships.”

JOST's strong corporate culture also appealed to him. “JOST is constantly looking for new opportunities, is very flexible and offers space for entrepreneurship. I have very good contact with our chairman Roland Jost and his team. That direct line is a great advantage to be able to play the ball briefly.”

“I am really looking forward to helping to build the future of JOST”, he continues. “I am now 57 years old and want to go 100 percent for the last ten years of my career. I hope to be able to realize many beautiful things at JOST."

The specialized consultancy for the transport and logistics sector De Putter & Co recruited Patrick Kockx for the position at JOST. “Patrick is a driving force that will steer the intended growth of JOST in the right direction”, says managing director William De Putter. “He is close to the harbor and has a lot of knowledge and skills. We look forward to continuing to work together in the future.”
