Talent at JOST isn’t confined to professional abilities. It also shines through personal commitments and meaningful projects. Today, we’d like to highlight the inspiring humanitarian initiative of Serge Olmo, a trainer at our company, whose dedication commands admiration.

For the past four years, Serge and his wife have devoted much of their free time to a cause close to their hearts: giving underprivileged children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo a better future.

An association founded on a simple idea: bringing back smiles

In 2020, they founded a non-profit organization called Sourires d’enfants du Congo (Smiles of the Children of Congo). Its mission is clear: to bring a bit of joy, dignity, and hope to children living in extreme poverty.

Today, the association supports two orphanages near Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC. It provides daily care to around 120 children, offering them shelter, education, and emotional support.

Two orphanages, two difficult realities

The first center, EVAPEV, is located in Mont Ngafula on the outskirts of Kinshasa. Its name stands for "Sharing the Gospel with Children in Difficult Situations." It provides stability to children whose lives have often been marked by abandonment or violence.

The second orphanage, CHERO, is located in Kintambo, a densely populated urban neighborhood nicknamed "Jamaica." Named after the late son of the center’s director, this site faces even more dire conditions: no green space, extreme overcrowding, and chronic food insecurity.

A project driven by strong values

This humanitarian project is a natural extension of the values Serge and his wife live by every day. It’s made possible, in part, thanks to the professional stability Serge enjoys at JOST.

In his own words:
"The stability my job gives me allows me to fully invest in this humanitarian project. Without it, I couldn’t help others in this way."

At JOST, we share this belief: when people can thrive at work, it supports their personal well-being—and sometimes, it even helps transform lives across the globe.

A sincere and direct call for help

Sourires d’enfants du Congo continues to grow, but the needs remain immense. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a real difference in these children's lives.

The message is simple: help us. These three words carry immense weight. To feed, to heal, to educate, to protect. To spark a smile where hope sometimes seems lost.
