The Liège Criminal Court refused to approve the agreement proposed to R. Jost by the Federal Prosecutor for the last charges still remaining in this criminal case which has run for six years by now. This agreement was intended to put an end to the last aspects of the case: the first ones had been abandoned by an order of dismissal issued by the Liège Council Chamber last January; the subsequent ones had been closed by a settlement approved by the same Chamber last January.
R. Jost had accepted this agreement because it was balanced and made it possible to close the case at long last.
The Court does not have the same analysis as the Prosecutor, who nonetheless represents society: the Court would like to see a greater financial effort from R. Jost, even though a major effort has already been made.
This case will therefore have to be concluded in the coming weeks by presenting a suitable agreement to another court for approval, as required by law.
These new delays do not affect the Jost Group, its performance or its willingness to take up the many challenges it faces.
