This month, we are delighted to introduce Nele De Corte, who has been part of JOST for 11 years in the quality department. Beyond her professional role, Nele has a passion for nutritherapy, combining nutrition and lifestyle to improve health, energy, and overall well-being.
Small Choices, Big Impact
Nele’s journey began a few years ago with a growing curiosity about superfoods and the impact of nutrition on health. Three years ago, she decided to take the next step and trained at the Applied Nutritherapy Training Center in Namur, recently graduating as a nutritherapist.
Nele emphasizes that health is not a luxury, but a series of daily choices. Nutritherapy focuses on combining several pillars: restorative sleep, a diet adapted to individual needs, connection with nature, stress management, family and social life, and limiting pollutants. By supporting the body and mind with the right nutrients and habits, we can improve well-being and prevent imbalances.
A key concept is respecting chronobiology, the natural rhythms of the body. For example, morning meals should prioritize proteins, slow-digesting carbohydrates, and healthy fats to support energy and focus throughout the day. Lunch should include complete meals with proteins (animal or plant-based), colorful vegetables, whole-grain starches, and healthy fats like olive oil or small oily fish. Afternoon snacks are important to avoid energy dips and sugar cravings, focusing on foods rich in tryptophan such as fruits, nuts, and dark chocolate. Dinner should be light, with vegetables, limited proteins, and slow-digesting carbohydrates to stimulate melatonin and ensure restful sleep.
Bringing Nutritherapy to Work
For Nele, well-being and performance go hand in hand. Managing stress and energy helps improve individual effectiveness and team cohesion. Her current projects at JOST include company workshops designed to provide practical tools for daily health, focus, and stress management, and friendly cooking workshops that combine nutritious foods with simple, quick recipes.
Through these initiatives, Nele demonstrates that taking care of oneself not only enhances personal health but also strengthens team performance.
